What to Expect from Sculptra Treatment (Step by Step)
Here is what to expect from your Sculptra treatment at our practice, from initial consultation to recovery and results.
You’ll meet with Dr. Lewis at our office in Midlothian to discuss your goals and assess your facial volume loss. Dr. Lewis will build a treatment plan, including how many sessions you’ll likely need, and provide a clear, written price quote.
Sculptra contains lidocaine to help minimize discomfort during injection. A topical numbing option may also be used.
Sculptra is injected into the deeper layers of the skin using a fine needle. A typical session takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Most patients need 2 to 4 sessions, spaced roughly 4 to 6 weeks apart, to achieve full results. Treatment is administered onsite at our office in Midlothian.
You can resume normal activities the same day. We’ll ask you to gently massage the treated area at home following a specific schedule during the days after treatment, which helps distribute the product evenly. Avoid strenuous exercise, excess sun, and alcohol for the first 24 to 48 hours.
Sculptra results build gradually as your body produces new collagen, typically becoming visible over 4 to 6 weeks and continuing to improve over the following months. Results can last up to two years or longer.
