Botox® Treatments in Richmond & Midlothian, VA
When you look in the mirror, do fine lines and wrinkles make you look more tired or older than you actually feel? Our Botox® treatments are a trusted, non-surgical way to soften frustrating facial lines and restore a refreshed, confident appearance.

What is Botox® and How Does it Work?
Over time, the repeated facial expressions we make, like squinting, smiling, and frowning, cause the skin to crease. As skin loses its elasticity, these creases turn into permanent fine lines.
By calming the specific facial muscles behind these repetitive movements, Botox®, an FDA-approved neuromodulator, helps smooth their appearance. By gently easing this muscle activity, the skin above is allowed to smooth out, resulting in a naturally youthful and well-rested look.
The Lewis Plastic Surgery Approach: “Less is More”
At Lewis Plastic Surgery, we pride ourselves on achieving results that look completely natural. Injectables are primarily administered by Page Huffman, our highly skilled Nurse Practitioner who brings over 10 years of experience.
Our goal is never to leave you looking “frozen” or overdone. We evaluate your facial anatomy to administer the exact amount of Botox® needed to smooth away wrinkles while allowing you to maintain your natural facial expressions.

Who Is a Candidate for Botox®?
You may be a perfect candidate for Botox® if you are in good overall health, looking for a non-surgical anti-aging solution, and want to address areas of localized facial wrinkling. Botox® is highly effective for treating:
- Frown Lines (Glabellar Lines): The “11s” or vertical lines that appear between your eyebrows.
- Crow’s Feet: The fine lines that fan out from the outer corners of your eyes.
- Forehead Creases: Horizontal lines that stretch across the forehead.
Botox VS Dysport
They work very similarly. The best choice often comes down to injector preference, treatment area, and how your body responds.
- Time to see results: Dysport: May work slightly faster (2–3 days) Botox: Typically 3–5 days
- Spread: Dysport: Spreads a bit more — good for larger areas (e.g., forehead). Botox: More localized — good for precise areas (e.g., crow’s feet)
- Dosing: Units are not interchangeable (you usually need more Dysport units to equal Botox)
- Duration: Both last about 3–4 months (varies by person)

What to Expect From Your Botox Treatment (Step by Step)

1. A Personalized Consultation
Your journey begins with a one-on-one consultation at our Midlothian office. We will listen to your specific aesthetic goals, evaluate your skin, and determine if Botox® is the right option for you. We provide clear pricing upfront, ensuring there are no surprises.
2. A Quick, Comfortable Procedure
The Botox® treatment itself is incredibly quick, often taking just 10 to 15 minutes. Using an ultra-fine needle, Page will make a series of small, precise injections into the targeted muscles. Most patients report only mild, brief discomfort, similar to a tiny pinch.
3. Zero Recovery Downtime
One of the greatest benefits of Botox® is that it requires absolutely no downtime. You can return to work or your normal daily activities immediately after your appointment. You may experience some mild pinpoint redness or slight tenderness at the injection sites, but this typically resolves within a few hours to a day.
4. After your treatment
Do not have a facial, nor rub or massage the treated area for 24 hours after your treatment. Do not lie down or do strenuous exercise for three hours after treatment or wear a tight fitting hat. This can move the Botox into muscles that we do not want it in. Also, avoid any exposure to a sauna, hot tub or tanning for four hours. This will prevent your blood pressure from rising and thus minimize the risk of bruising after treatment

5. Enjoying Your Results
You will begin to see a noticeable smoothing of your fine lines within the first few days, with the full, beautiful results settling in after about one to two weeks.
